City of Alexandria to Hold Annual Irish Festival on Saturday, August 4

The City of Alexandria's Annual Irish Festival is scheduled for Saturday, August 4, from 12-7 pm at Waterfront Park, located at 1A Prince St. in Historic Old Town Alexandria. Admission is free and the festival will be held rain or shine.

The festival features traditional Irish entertainment including performances by the Boyle Irish Dancers; Double Down; O'Neill-James School of Dance; Boyle School of Dance; Maple School of Dance; Rocky Guttman; The City of Alexandria Pipes & Drums; Lieutenant Colonel Dowd Division A.O.H.; Culkin School of Dance; Jeff Phillips; Meghan Nagle; and the Flying Cows of Ventry. Exhibitors will showcase traditional arts, crafts, paintings and souvenirs, and Irish food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The City's Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities and Ballyshaners, Inc are cosponsoring the festival. For additional information on the Irish Festival, call the City's Special Events Hotline at 703-883-4686.

Visitors to the historic district are encouraged to take Metro's yellow or blue lines to the King Street Metro Station in Old Town, take DASH or Metrobuses, or park in one of the convenient parking garages or lots.
