Alexandria police are investigating the apparent murder of a man in the 900 block of North Henry Street. Tonight, around 8:30 P.M., police were called to 930 North Henry Street to assist with a man who was bleeding. The man died at the scene.

The victim, whose identity is not being released pending notification of next of kin, suffered an injury to the upper body. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

The victim was found in the lobby of a local homeless shelter. Detectives are investigating whether the victim was a resident.

This is the fifth homicide in Alexandria this year. There were five murders in Alexandria last year.
