This afternoon police responded to a location along the Potomac River, east of the 500 block of South Union Street, for the report of a body in the water. Responding officers and firefighters located an apparently deceased black male in the water by a dock at the Harborside Yacht Club.

The body was removed from the water with the assistance of the Alexandria Fire Department. The man’s identity has not been established and the exact cause of death has not been determined pending the outcome of an autopsy.
