Alexandria Residents Invited to Meet
with Pharmacists for Medication Reviews

The City of Alexandria Department of Human Service’s Office of Aging and Adult Services, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and AARP are teaming up with pharmacists from CVS to provide information and free review, assessment, and counseling on medications for City residents.

Through a series of four events, baby-boomers, seniors and their families will have the opportunity to learn more about prescription and over-the-counter drugs and get a free one-on-one medication review with a CVS pharmacist. Free blood pressure screening will also be offered. Screenings take only about 20 minutes, and appointments are required. The dates are:

Thursday, June 21
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson Street

Monday, June 25
11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
St. Martins Senior Center, 4650 Taney Avenue

Friday, June 29
10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Annie B. Rose Senior High-rise, 399 Pendleton Street

12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Ladrey Senior High-rise, 300 Wythe Street

Take the time to have your medications screened for harmful drug interactions, correct dosages, harmful side effects, food interactions and any other concerns or questions you have. Bring all prescriptions in their original pill bottles and any over-the-counter medicines, including vitamins, dietary supplements, drops and creams.

To schedule an appointment or to get more information, contact the Office of Adult and Aging Services at 703-838-0920 or email debbie.ludington@alexandriava.gov.
