Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission To Hold Public Hearing
on Proposed Lighting Improvements at Fort Ward Park Athletic Field

Commission’s Regular Meeting Will Follow Public Hearing

The Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to discuss proposed lighting improvements at the Fort Ward Park Athletic Field, 4301 W. Braddock Road. The public hearing will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, at the Mount Vernon Recreation Center, located at 2701 Commonwealth Ave. During the meeting, A. Morton Thomas Associates, Inc., the Fort Ward project’s consultant and design engineer, will provide a presentation based on comments from the May 10 community meeting and receive public comment.


Following the public hearing, the Commission will hear comments from residents on any park and recreation related issue.


As part of its ongoing effort to give additional opportunities for residents to provide input on park and recreation issues, the Commission will continue to schedule future public hearings and regular monthly meetings at various locations throughout the City.
