Alexandria Police Arrest Homicide Suspect

Last night, Alexandria police arrested an Alexandria man for the murders of Nathan Travis Lee and Mark Anthony Collins on April 19. Darrell Watson, 19, of 403 Euille Court, was charged with two counts of Murder.

Watson is charged with killing Lee, a 31-year-old Alexandria man and Collins, a 28-year old Landover, Maryland man, who were found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 800 block of North Patrick Street around 2:15 a.m. Both men were pronounced dead at area hospitals.

A motive for the murder remains under investigation.

Detectives are encouraging anyone who may have been in the area of the 800 block of North Patrick Street in the early morning hours of April 19, to call 703.838.4711.

Chief David Baker said, “This act of tragic and senseless violence so outrages the public conscience that it requires we work as hard as we can to identify and arrest the person responsible. I am extremely proud of our detectives who, with the assistance of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, worked around the clock. They are an exceptional team of talented and dedicated professionals.”

Note: A photo of the suspect is not being released at this time, as detectives still need to interview additional witnesses.
