Alexandria Police Investigate Bank Robbery in Old Town

The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a robbery that occurred this morning at the Cardinal Bank at 1737 King Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

Around 11:05 a.m., a suspect entered the bank and approached a teller. The suspect, armed with a gun, demanded money and the victim complied. The suspect then fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion and a mustache. He is in his mid to late 30s, 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 9-inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and dark jeans and carrying a messenger-style bag.
