Alexandria Early Childhood Commission Accepts
Proposals for FY 2008 Mini-Grant Fund

Funding Used to Improve Education and Services for Programs

That Serve At-Risk Youth from Newborn to 5 Years Old

The Alexandria Early Childhood Commission is accepting proposals for the FY 2008 Mini-Grant Fund. The fund seeks to improve the quality of education and services in programs that serve at-risk children from newborn to five years old. Childcare centers and other organizations can use the funding to seek accreditation, provide staff training, enhance parent involvement, improve access to support services, or add to the supply or the quality of materials and equipment in a program.

Funding is available for fiscal year 2008, which begins July 1, 2007, and ends June 30, 2008. Awards will be announced on or before June 30, 2007.


The proposal application must be submitted to the Alexandria Department of Human Services, Office for Early Childhood Development, 2525 Mt. Vernon Ave., Alexandria, VA 22301, no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, May 7.
