Alexandria Commission for Women Is Accepting Reservations
for 27th Annual Salute to Women Awards Banquet

Event Honors March as Women’s History Month

Deadline to RSVP is March 21

The Alexandria Commission for Women is accepting reservations for the 27th Annual Salute to Women Awards Banquet. The awards banquet will take place on Monday, March 26, at the Radisson Hotel, located at 901 N. Fairfax St. in Old Town Alexandria, with a reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. The ceremony is held to honor March as Women’s History Month. The public is invited to attend.

Tickets are $75 each and reservation payments can be made online using eChecks at
www.alexwomen.com. The deadline to RSVP is Wednesday, March 21. This year’s keynote speaker will be Jatrice Martel Gaiter, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. (PPMW).

PPMW is a provider of comprehensive, affordable reproductive healthcare and education services. It serves 50,000 men, women, and teens each year throughout the District of Columbia; Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, Md.; and Northern Virginia. Ms. Gaiter is an advocate for women, children, and families and appears regularly in national and local media, including “Oprah,” CNN, “ABC News,” Fox, and Essence magazine.

Proceeds from the banquet will benefit programs of the Office on Women, including domestic and sexual violence prevention services. Funding from grants and private donations provide the City agency with additional monetary support.
