ALEXANDRIA PREPARES FOR WASHINGTON’S BIRTHDAY EVENTS President Washington Schedules Saturday Morning Visit to Historic Gadsby’s Tavern and Market Square in Old Town Media Availability with Mayor Euille & Washington Re-enactor In Heart of Old Town Additional Video and Still Photo Opportunities Include Revolutionary War Soldiers in Uniform, Birthnight Ball Set-up Inside Gadsby’s Tavern As the finishing touches are put into place for the flurry of events set to take place in the City of Alexandria to honor our first President’s 275th Birthday, Mayor William D. Euille is set to welcome the premier George Washington re-enactor in the U.S., Don DeHaven, as he arrives at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum via horse-drawn carriage on Saturday morning to inspect preparations for his Birthnight Banquet and Ball scheduled for that night. Mayor Euille and President Washington (Don DeHaven) will be available to answer questions regarding all planned 275th Birthday Celebration Events during and following the Gadsby’s Tour. Mayor Euille and Geo. Washington (Don DeHaven) will inspect the Birthnight Ball setup, discuss the weekend of events, and meet with Revolutionary War soldiers inside Gadsby’s Tavern. They will also meet with Girl Scouts and shoppers from Farmer’s Market. Excellent video and still photograph opportunities will be available. Saturday, February 17, 2007
