Alexandria Police Investigate Bank Robbery in Old Town


The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a robbery that occurred this morning at the Cardinal Bank at 1737 King Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

Around 11:02 a.m., a suspect entered the bank and approached a teller. The suspect demanded money and the victim complied. The suspect was armed with a rifle. The suspect later fled the bank in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30’s, about 5’07” tall with a medium complexion and a mustache. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and shiny dark-colored jogging-style pants.
