HOLIDAY TEA TO RAISE FUNDS FOR COLLEGE-BOUND STUDENTS
AT MINNIE HOWARD AND T.C. WILLIAMS SCHOOLS

The Advisory Board of Project Discovery Alexandria invites you to chase away the December chill at a
Holiday Tea on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 4-6 p.m. at the Alexandria Black History Museum, 902 Wythe St. Join us for tea, sweet treats, gift basket raffles and live entertainment. The suggested donation for the tea is $25 for adults and $10 for students.

Funds raised by the
Holiday Tea support college readiness activities for students who take part in Project Discovery, a college preparatory program that motivates and encourages low-income and/or first-generation college-bound students to pursue opportunities in post-secondary education. The program works with 130 students in grades 9 through 12 at Minnie Howard School and T.C. Williams High School. Each year, 92 percent of Project Discovery graduating seniors matriculate to 2- and 4-year colleges such as University of Virginia, Northern Virginia Community College, George Mason University and many more.

For Holiday Tea ticket and Project Discovery information, contact the City of Alexandria Department of Human Services, at 703-838-0915 or
