Alexandria Police Arrest Man for April Murder

Last night, Alexandria police arrested a 19-year-old man for a shooting last spring that left one man dead and a second critically injured. Tobias A. Carrington, of no fixed address, was formally charged with the April 2 murder of Lee Timmons, a 50-year-old Alexandria man, inside an apartment in the 400 block of South Columbus Street.

Carrington turned himself in at Alexandria police headquarters on Wednesday evening after an Alexandria grand jury indicted him earlier this week for First Degree Murder, Malicious Wounding and related firearm charges. The second victim, Carrington’s 57-year-old grandfather, survived, as did Carrington who shot himself after shooting the other men.

Carrington is being held without bond at the Alexandria jail.
