Alexandria Police Investigate Bank Robbery in Old Town

The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a robbery that occurred this morning at the United Bank at 301 South Washington Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

Around 10:30 a.m., a suspect entered the bank and approached a teller.� The suspect demanded money and the victim complied.� No weapon was displayed.� The suspect then fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 50s, about 5-feet 11-inches tall, and weighing 120 to 130 pounds.� He was unshaven and wearing a dark baseball cap, a purple track-style jacket and dark pants.� He left the area in a dark grey car.
