CITY OF ALEXANDRIA ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE OF SERVICES
FOR COLUMBUS DAY, MONDAY, OCT. 9


All Alexandria City government offices will be closed on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 9.

The Alexandria Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts and the Clerk of Court’s Office will also be closed on Monday, Oct. 9.

Commonwealth of Virginia offices located in Alexandria, including the DMV Office at 2681 Mill Road, will be closed on Monday, Oct. �9.

All Alexandria Health Department offices and facilities will also be closed on Monday, Oct. 9, including the Flora Krause Casey Health Center at 1200 N. Howard St. and the Adolescent Health Center at 3701 W. Braddock Road.

Alexandria City Public Schools will be open on Monday, Oct. 9.

City recreation centers will be open from 9 am to 6 pm on Monday, Oct. 9. The Chinquapin Recreation Center will open from 6 am to 6 pm.

All City libraries will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9.

DASH bus service will operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday, Oct. 9.

Residential trash and recycling will not be collected on Monday, Oct. 9. Collection services will be delayed by one day through Friday, Oct. 13.

The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces, as well as time restrictions in residential permit parking districts and other areas with signed parking time limits, on Oct. 9. HOV restrictions on Washington Street and U. S. Route 1 will be lifted on Oct. 9.

The Alexandria Office on Women emergency hotlines will be fully staffed and operational on Monday, Oct. 9. The domestic violence hotline, 703-838-4911, and sexual assault hotline, 703-683-7273, as with all Office on Women hotlines, operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
