ALEXANDRIA PREPAREDNESS DAY EXPO SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, SEPT. 30
Event To Feature Emergency Preparedness Demonstrations and Information

The City of Alexandria will host its first Alexandria Preparedness Day Expo from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Market Square, 301 King St. During the event, participants will learn ways they can prepare for an emergency through demonstrations and information sessions. The public is invited to attend.

“The Alexandria Preparedness Day Expo will give our residents, businesses, and other participants a chance to collectively learn how they can prepare for all types of emergencies,” said Alexandria Fire Chief Gary Mesaris. “The Expo will give them the opportunity to meet our first responders in person and get a hands-on feeling of what it is like to serve our City.”

The latest in Police and Fire equipment will be on display and members of the Alexandria Police and Fire Departments will be on-hand to provide demonstrations and welcome visitors.

Information session topics include: Preparing Your Family, Terrorism Today, Preparing Your Business, Pandemic Flu, and Preparing Your Pets.

The event is sponsored by the City of Alexandria and the Alexandria Citizen Corps Council.
