CITY OF ALEXANDRIA SCHEDULES ADDITIONAL REFUSE COLLECTIONS TO AID IN STORM CLEANUP
Storm Debris Now Collected With Regular Pickups
Extra Crews Scheduled Citywide on Friday

Alexandria’s Solid Waste Division will collect damaged furniture, carpets and other household items that must be discarded along with regular refuse collections for the rest of the week, City Manager James K. Hartmann announced today.

In addition, special collection crews will work citywide on Friday, June 30 to accommodate City residents who were unable to place damaged items out for collection on their regularly scheduled pickup days earlier this week. Materials should be placed at the curb no later than 6:00 a.m. on Friday. There will be no alley collection. Crews will start in the City’s West End and proceed eastward work toward Old Town.

Residents are reminded that materials should not be placed under low-hanging wires or blocked by parked cars.

For additional information, call the Solid Waste Division at 703-519-3486.
