Alexandria Commission for the Arts Seeks Works of Art
for the 2006 Festival of the Arts

The Alexandria Commission for the Arts is seeking works of art from Northern Virginia artists for the third annual Northern Virginia Regional Artist Juried Exhibition. The exhibition is part of the Alexandria Festival of the Arts, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, and Sunday, Sept. 10, on King Street in Old Town Alexandria. Applications can be obtained by visiting www.alexandriacommissionforthearts.org and clicking on the Festival of the Arts link; or e-mailing festivalofthearts@comcast.net. Applications must be submitted to the Alexandria Commission for the Arts, 1108 Jefferson St., Alexandria, VA 22314, and postmarked by Friday, July 7.

The exhibition is open to artists who work in all media and live or work in Northern Virginia (Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax County, Fairfax City, Prince William, Loudoun, or Falls Church). Art for the exhibition will be on display at Market Square, 301 King St., during the festival, and moved to City Hall for display through Oct. 6.

The Festival of the Arts annually attracts over 80,000 people. Festival activities will include entertainment at Market Square.
