Public Comment Period Extended on Proposed Increase in City Marina Fees
The public comment period on the proposed increase in City Marina fees has been extended to Tuesday, May 30.

The City Marina is located in Old Town Alexandria adjacent to the Torpedo Factory Art Center, 105 N. Union St. It offers year-round docking for pleasure boats and commercial vessels, and is surrounded by walking and biking trails, restaurants, shops, and historic sites. Fees for docking pleasure boats have not been increased since 1999.

The Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission held a public hearing on the proposed fee increase on Thursday, May 18. Commission members are requesting additional comments.

Written comments will be accepted through Tuesday, May 30, and should be sent to Kirk Kincannon, Director, Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, 1108 Jefferson St., Alexandria, VA 22314 or e-mailed to kirk.kincannon@alexandriava.gov.
