City of Alexandria Holds American Indian Festival


The City of Alexandria’s American Indian Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, from 11 am to 6 pm at the Waterfront Park, 1 A Prince St., in historic Old Town Alexandria. Admission is free and the festival will be held rain or shine.

The festival will feature American Indian dancers, instrumentalists, soloists and performing arts groups, and displays showcasing traditional arts, crafts, paintings, and souvenirs. Original American Indian food will be available for purchase.

The City’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities and the American Indian Inter-Cultural Organization are cosponsoring the festival.

Visitors to the historic district are encouraged to take Metro’s yellow or blue lines to the King Street Metro Station in Old Town, take DASH or Metro buses, or park in one of the convenient parking garages or lots.
