Alexandria Police Seek Identity of Armed Robber

Alexandria detectives are releasing security video of an armed robbery in an attempt to identify the gunman. On Tuesday, February 21, around 4:10 p.m., an unknown man robbed the CVS drug store at 415 East Monroe Avenue.

After initially approaching the pharmacy counter, he made his way to the front counter. He displayed a handgun and demanded money. The clerk opened the cash register and the suspect reached over and grabbed money from the tray. The suspect then fled from the business and was last seen walking south through the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a black male, 35 to 45 years old, 6-feet to 6-feet 3-inches tall and weighing 220 to 230 pounds. He was unshaven and had shades of grey in his beard. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a tan baseball cap with an unknown logo on it, dark sunglasses, a blue denim shirt over a white shirt, and dark pants. His walk is rather distinctive and could be described as a side-to-side swagger.

Anyone knowing the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detective Jeff Stovall at 703.838.4766 or 703.838.4711.
