Alexandria Police Investigate a Triple Shooting


Alexandria police are investigating a shooting that occurred tonight which left one man dead and two men in critical condition.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. tonight, Alexandria police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of South Columbus Street for the report of three men shot.

Investigation revealed that all three victims were shot inside an apartment on the fifth floor at the Olde Towne West Apartment complex. One adult male was pronounced dead at the scene while the other two adult males were transported by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital in critical condition. The ages and names of the victims are not available at this time.

Officers and detectives secured the scene and began to conduct a canvass of the area in attempts to locate witnesses. A motive has not yet been determined, and the case still remains under investigation.
