“Art in City Hall” Juried Exhibition Continues through July 21


“Art in City Hall,” a juried exhibition that is cosponsored by the City of Alexandria, The Art League, and the Del Ray Artisans, is currently on display now through July 21 at City Hall, 301 King St., second floor. The exhibit is open to the public from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 9 am to noon, excluding holidays. The exhibit is part of Alexandria Mayor William D. Euille's initiative to promote the arts citywide.

The exhibit was juried by M. V. Clark, founder and co-director of the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Washington, DC, and features a variety of mediums. Top awards were presented as follows:

• Best in Show – Cheryl Dwyer, “Moon Party,” Oil
• Second Place – Courtney Stevens, “Gigi,” Mixed Media Sculpture
C Third Place – Donna Carter, “City Squared,” Acrylic
C Honorable Mentions – Awarded to 12 local artists
