City of Alexandria’s Chinquapin Park Recreation Center Holds Open House


The City of Alexandria’s Chinquapin Park Recreation Center will hold an open house on Saturday, April 1, from 10 am to 2 pm. The center is located at 3210 King St. Admission and use of the facility will be free.

Open House activities will include:

• Free swimming in the Dr. Robert S. Rixse Memorial Pool
• Screening tests to determine a person’s level of swimming ability
• Late registration for spring and summer classes and camps
• Use of equipment in the fitness room
• Door-prize drawings for a monthly pass to the recreation center
• Refreshments

Staff will be available to answer questions about the facility and programs. Children who are 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult; children, ages 13 and older, must bring a school identification card. No one under 16 years of age is permitted in the fitness room.
