Alexandria Police Investigate a Shooting
Alexandria police are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning which left a 19-year-old Alexandria man in serious condition.
At approximately 3:05 a.m. this morning, Alexandria police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of First Street for the report of a man down.
Investigation revealed that the victim was standing in an alley when he was shot multiple times. A friend transported him to Inova Alexandria Hospital and then he was flown by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he underwent surgery and remains in stable condition.
Officers and detectives secured the scene and began to conduct a canvass of the area in attempts to locate witnesses. A motive has not yet been determined, and the case still remains under investigation.
