Alexandria Commission on Aging Seeks
Nominations for Annual Awards

The Alexandria Commission on Aging, which advocates for the needs of Alexandria’s senior citizens, is seeking nominations for its Annual Awards. The awards honor individuals, regardless of age, who have demonstrated superior contributions in advancing issues and projects that favorably affect older Alexandrians. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, March 31.

The Annie B. Rose Lifetime Award recognizes an individual citizen who has served seniors for at least ten years. A second award, named in honor of Alexandrian Lois Van Valkenburgh, honors an individual citizen with at least one year of service to seniors. The Excellence in Aging Award for an Organization recognizes an organization that has made an outstanding contribution to Alexandria seniors.

For more information on the Alexandria Commission on Aging’s Annual Awards or to receive a nomination form, call Debbie Ludington of the City’s Office of Aging and Adult Services at 703.838.0927, or visit alexandriava.gov.
