25th Annual Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Scheduled To Be Held in Old Town


The 25th Annual Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled to be held along King Street in Old Town in celebration of Irish-American heritage. The parade will take place on Saturday, March 4, from 12:30 pm to approximately 3 pm. No traffic will be allowed on the parade route, which runs eastbound on King Street from West Street to Fairfax Street.

The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade is John T. Dunleavy, Chairman of the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. The Ballyshaners, Inc. is a cosponsor of the event. More than 150,000 people are expected to attend.

The festivities will include the Invitational Classic Car Show at 10 am on N. Pitt Street between King Street and Cameron Street; and the Fun Dog Show at 10:30 am at Market Square, 301 King St.

Parking in Old Town will be restricted on Saturday, March 4, between 8 am and 3 pm.
