Verizon Hosts Job Information Sessions for Participants of Alexandria’s JobLink
Verizon Will Recruit for Telecommunications and Electronics Positions

Verizon will host job information sessions for participants of JobLink, the City of Alexandria’s one-stop career center, for telecommunications and electronics positions. The event will take place from 10 am to 2 pm on Thursday, Jan. 26, at JobLink, 2914 Business Center Drive. A Verizon representative will be recruiting the center’s participants for full-time service, cable-splicing, multi-media services, metrology, and center-office technician positions; and part-time frame attendants.

Persons who have gained telecommunications and electronics skills through experience or education are preferred. Individuals who pass Verizon’s pre-employment testing will be considered. Most positions require outdoor work, and applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Applicants must also be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.

JobLink is a division of the City’s Department of Human Services. Verizon is a leading provider of high-growth communication services and the largest provider of wireline and wireless communications.

For more information on the Verizon job information sessions or to become a participant of the City’s JobLink, call Dana Matthews of the Department of Human Services at 703.838.4479, extension 223.
