City of Alexandria Invites Members of The Art League
And The Del Ray Artisans To Submit Works for Juried Art Show

The City of Alexandria is inviting members of The Art League and The Del Ray Artisans to submit their works of art for a juried art show. The works will be on display in an exhibit at City Hall, 301 King St., on the second floor from Feb. 1 through July 21. Artists who are not members of the organizations can join and participate in the show. The City, The Art League, and The Del Ray Artisans are hosting the event as an effort to promote the arts citywide and the talent of local artists.

Artists can submit up to three original works with an entry fee cost of $1 per piece. The jurying process will be based on originality, quality, execution of subject matter, and the amount of exhibition space.

A reception will be held to officially open the show on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at City Hall, near the Council Chamber, second floor. The Art League will be collecting entries for the art show from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, Jan. 28, at City Hall on the second floor.

Works can be for sale or marked not for sale. Sales will be handled through the Art League and a 25 percent commission will be taken from the price of all sales. An honorarium of $200 will be awarded to the best work in the show.
