City of Alexandria is Accepting Applications
For 2006 Winter Youth Basketball League
Deadline to Register is Wednesday, Nov. 30

The City of Alexandria is accepting applications for its 2006 Winter Youth Basketball League for boys and girls, ages 7 to 17. The registration fee is $15 per child and the deadline to register is Wednesday, Nov. 30. Participants of the youth basketball program must be City residents.

Youth who register for the 14 and under and 17 and under age divisions will be required to participate in a skills assessment session, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Francis Hammond Middle School, 4646 Seminary Rd. The 14 and under age division will hold its session from 6:30 to 8 pm, and the 17 and under age division will take place from 8 to 9:30 pm. League coaches will be available to assess players, and players will participate in a series of drills. Pre-registration in the youth basketball league is required.

Registration forms are available at the City’s neighborhood recreation centers, public libraries, and the Recreation Services Division, which is located at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St. For more information, visit www.alexandriava.gov/recreation or call the City’s Youth Sport’s Office at 703.838.4345.
