City of Alexandria Announces 2005 Holiday Concert Schedule
City Kicks Off Holiday Season with Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony


Visitors to Alexandria’s Old Town can get into the holiday spirit and enjoy the festive sounds of the season while they shop and dine. The City’s 2005 Holiday Concert Schedule will feature a variety of music, including gospel, barbershop, choral, folk, and old-fashioned caroling by local performers. The City will kick off the holiday season with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 25.

Concerts are coordinated by the City’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities Special Events Office. Concerts are cancelled in the event of inclement weather and subject to change without notice. For up-to-date information, call the Special Events Hotline at 703.883.4686.

Visitors to the historic district are encouraged to take Metro rail Yellow or Blue lines to the King Street Station in Old Town, take DASH or Metro buses, or park in one of the convenient parking garages or lots.
