Alexandria Commission on Persons with Disabilities
Seeks Input for Needs Assessment Survey

The Alexandria Commission on Persons with Disabilities (ACPD) is seeking persons with a disability, or a family member or service provider of a person with a disability to complete a Needs Assessment survey online at alexandriava.gov/dhs/acpd_assessment.php. Responses to the survey are strictly confidential and needed to develop a local Needs Assessment Report for state and local officials.

The report will help determine which areas need priority funding and targeted resources to improve the independence of people with physical and sensory disabilities in the City of Alexandria. Virginia’s forty local Disability Service Boards survey people with disabilities and service providers about services every three years.

The ACPD represents persons with physical and sensory disabilities and serves as the City’s Disability Services Board. Physical and sensory disabilities include hearing loss, deafness, vision loss, blindness, and medical conditions that make it difficult to move. The ACPD advocates for the unmet needs of people with disabilities, including, but not limited to, increased access to programs and services.

For more information or to receive a copy of the survey in an alternative format, call 703.838.0711, TTY 703.836.1493, or e-mail mike.hatfield@alexandriava.gov.
