Recycling Advisory Committee to Review
Draft of City of Alexandria Ordinance Requiring Recycling


The Recycling Advisory Committee (RAC) will host a series of meetings to provide feedback and recommendations to City staff about the City’s draft ordinance requiring recycling. The meetings will be held on the following dates at the Beatley Central Library, 5005 Duke St.:

C Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 4 - 5:30 pm
C Thursday, Nov. 17, from 9 - 10 am
C Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 4 - 5 pm

A fourth and final meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 15, from 9 - 10 am, at City Hall, 301 King St., Room 3000. Local businesses, property owners, residents, and other interested parties may attend these meetings as an observer, and any comments they may have will be accepted via e-mail.

The RAC consists of a group of stakeholders representing various interests from the commercial and multi-family sector that will be impacted by the City’s draft ordinance requiring recycling. Included in this group are waste haulers, commercial property owners, business association and Alexandria Chamber of Commerce representatives, multi-family property owners, and private citizens.
