Alexandria City Council to Hold Work Session on Proposed Creation
of a Business Improvement District (BID) in Old Town

The Alexandria City Council will hold a work session on the proposed creation of a Business Improvement District (BID) in the King Street area of Old Town on October 19, at 7:00 pm, in the Hilton Old Town Alexandria ballroom, located at 1767 King Street.

As a follow up to the recent City Council approved King Street Retail Strategy report, a group of property owners, commercial tenants, and residents have proposed that City Council create a Business Improvement District (BID). At the work session, this group will explain and discuss its proposal to the Council.

Limited on-street parking is available near the Hilton Old Town. The hotel has parking garage spaces available at a flat fee of $5 for work session attendees. The parking garage can be entered from King Street.

Individuals with disabilities who require assistance or special arrangements to participate in the work session may call the City Clerk and Clerk of the Council’s Office at 703.838.4500 (TTY/TDD 703.838.5056). Please provide a 48-hour notice so that proper arrangements can be made.

For more information on the work session, call Mark Jinks, Assistant City Manager, at 703.838.4300.
