National Finance Association Recognizes Alexandria
With Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has recognized the City of Alexandria with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The association is honoring the City’s budget for proficiency in a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device.

Since the inception of the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program in1984, approximately 900 entities have received the award. Award recipients have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America. This is the City of Alexandria’s 17th consecutive year of receiving this prestigious award.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association that serves approximately 14,000 government finance professionals throughout North America.
