Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission Holds Special Meeting
On Proposed All City Sports Facility

The Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission will hold a special meeting on the All City Sports Facility that is proposed for the Joseph Hensley Park, which is located at 4200 Eisenhower Ave.. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 7:30 pm at the Mt. Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave. During the meeting, City representatives will present updated plans on the All City Sports Facility to the Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission and the Commission will give comments.

In December 2003, City Council directed staff to investigate potential sites for such a facility on City owned land. The Hensley Park was determined the most suitable site for a multi-use All City Sports Facility out of four sites considered.

For more information on the special meeting, or to obtain an agenda, call the City’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities at 703.838.4842.
