City of Alexandria Schedules Special Activities
At Old Town Alexandria’s Farmer’s Market

The City of Alexandria will be scheduling special activities at Old Town Alexandria’s Farmer's Market at Market Square, 301 King St., at 7:30 am on Saturday, Sept. 17. Activities will include a cooking demonstration by Executive Chef Bobby Beard from Vermilion. Beard will demonstrate how a full meal can be prepared from items such as fruits, vegetables, breads, and spices. Dove Florist will host flower arranging demonstrations and St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub will offer samples of various coffee from around the world. There will also be musical entertainment for the entire family, and face painting for children.

Old Town Alexandria's Farmer’s Market is thought to be one of the nation's oldest continually operating farmer's markets, serving as a primary way Alexandria residents have typically obtained their meat, dairy, fish, fruits, and vegetables. The Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday year-round from 5 am to 10:30 am.

For additional information regarding the special activities, call the City’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities at 703.838.4343.
