Alexandria Police Investigate a Shooting

Tonight, at approximately 7:25 p.m., an adult male was shot in the upper torso.

Police and medic units were called to the 4700 block of Kenmore Avenue and discovered the victim suffering from a gun shot wound. Officers and detectives secured the scene and began to conduct a canvass of the area in attempts to locate witnesses.

Investigation revealed that the victim, and two other men, may have been arguing when one of the suspects shot the victim. There is no further description on the two suspects at this time. A motive has not yet been determined and the case still remains under investigation.

The victim, a 24-year-old Richmond resident, was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Alexandria Police Department at 703.838.4444.
