Alexandria Police Arrest Peeping Tom Suspect

Last night at approximately 8:00 p.m., Alexandria Police arrested Keith Trell Johnson, 26, and charged him with Attempted Burglary. Johnson was apprehended at his home, 15 Ancell Street, without incident and is currently being held without bond at the Adult Detention Facility.

Detectives have been working a series of peeping tom cases since late June and a special task force was developed in attempts to apprehend the suspect responsible. Based on forensic evidence that police obtained from one of the cases, Johnson was arrested and charged with one count of Attempted Burglary. However, detectives do believe that Johnson is responsible for a number of other cases that have occurred since June and they continue to investigate.

Alexandria police would like to acknowledge the assistance of the management at the Commonwealth Crossing Apartment complex in the 1700 block of Commonwealth Avenue. They were instrumental in assisting the police during this operation and were especially accommodating to the special task force that was developed.

An arrest photograph of Keith Trell Johnson will not be available at this time as detectives continue their investigation.
