City of Alexandria Hosts Second Annual Doggie Day Swim


The City of Alexandria is hosting the second annual Doggie Day Swim on Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 4 - 7 pm. The event will take place at the Old Town Pool, 1609 Cameron St. The Doggie Day Swim is a celebration of the end of the pool season for dogs and their owners. Admission is $3 for resident dogs and $5 for nonresident dogs.

Dogs and their owners will enjoy swimming, games, treats, and toys. Owners must bring their own pet dish for water. Dog handlers must be at least 16 years old, and all dogs should wear current vaccination tags or owners must provide proof of current vaccinations. Dogs must be sociable and remain leashed while on the pool deck.
