Alexandria Commission for the Arts Hosts Grant Workshops
For FY 2006 - 2007 Grant Program

The Alexandria Commission for the Arts will host two grant workshops to provide information on its programs and services, and annual grant program, which provides funding for various local arts programs. The workshops will be held on Monday, Sept. 19, and Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 7 - 9 pm at the Dr. Oswald Durant Center, 1605 Cameron St. All interested applicants, both new and past grant recipients, are encouraged to attend one of the workshops.

The Commission’s grant categories for the FY 2006 - 2007 cycle include city arts operational grants for arts organizations based in Alexandria; city arts project grants for arts organizations intended to support an art project performed or presented to benefit local residents; city arts project grants for individuals who reside in the City and who, as part of their project, will conduct an outreach activity that will benefit local residents; and technical assistance grants for arts organizations.

Copies of the FY 2006 - 2007 Guide to Funding and application forms for all grant categories are available online at alexandriacommissionforthearts.org or by visiting the Commission’s office at 1108 Jefferson St. Completed grant applications must be submitted to the Commission’s office by 5 pm on Friday, Nov. 18.
