EOS Twenty-One Brings Carsharing to Alexandria’s West End

EOS Twenty-One, an apartment and condominium community, will bring carsharing to the City of Alexandria’s West End. EOS Twenty-One, which is located on Van Dorn Street between Duke and Edsall roads, has about 3,500 residents and is comprised of 20 residential apartment and condominium buildings. Carshare service will begin in the community on Monday, Aug. 1.

“With so many of our residents already using mass transit, it only makes sense to offer them this service,” said Charity Av-Lallemant, Marketing Director for EOS Twenty-One.

Carsharing helps to eliminate the costs and headaches of car ownership by sharing the use of a private vehicle in a community. The service also assists persons who are unable to purchase their own vehicle.

The City provides a monetary incentive to encourage residents and businesses to use carsharing services. The Carshare Alexandria! incentive reimburses up to $105 of membership and application fees for residents, up to $50 of membership fees for businesses, and half of each employee's application fee of up to $20. This applies to the first year's membership and application fees with a security deposit not included.

Carsharing service in Alexandria is provided by Flexcar and Zipcar.
