Alexandria Residents Can Report Streetlight Outages

City of Alexandria residents can report streetlight outages or problems to Dominion Virginia Power by calling 1.888.667.3000. Residents can also report problems through Dominion Virginia Power’s web site at www.dom.com/products/lighting/outage_report.jsp. A majority of Alexandria streetlights on public streets are owned and maintained by Dominion Virginia Power.

Streetlight outages along interstate highways, bridges over interstate highways, and interstate ramps should be reported to the Virginia Department of Transportation at 703.383.8368.

The City of Alexandria’s Department of Transportation and Environmental Services can direct calls and help residents report maintenance and other problems. When reporting streetlight outages, the exact location of the pole and, if possible, number of the pole, which can be found on a metal plate on the pole, are needed to ensure prompt repairs. Certain area streetlights may fall under the jurisdiction of the City.

For additional information, call Transportation and Environmental Services at 703.838.4966.
