Alexandria Police Seek Identity of Robbers

Alexandria detectives are trying to identify the two men who robbed a gas station last week. Police are releasing a security video of the crime with the hope that someone will recognize the suspects.

On Monday, June 13, around 7:15 p.m., two suspects entered the Exxon gas station at 501 South Van Dorn Street. One suspect, armed with a gun, approached the clerk and removed money from the cash register while the second suspect acted as a look-out. The clerk, a 43-year-old Fairfax man, was not injured.

The video shows two suspects entering the gas station, one suspect taking money from the cash register and then both suspects walking across the parking lot after leaving the business.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 17 to 20 years old, 5'7" to 5'9" tall with a thin build. He has a chipped front tooth and was wearing a black hat, a black t-shirt and dark nylon pants with zippered panels. The second suspect is a black male, 17 to 20 years old, 5'7" to 5'9" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a baseball cap, a black t-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone recognizing these suspects is asked to call Alexandria police at 703.838.4444 or 703.838.4711.

Note: Photos of the suspects appear below.
