City Invites Public to Planning Workshops
To Discuss Braddock Road Metro Area Planning Study

The City of Alexandria is inviting the public to attend two hands-on workshops to discuss the Braddock Road Metro Area Planning Study. Both workshops will be held at 6:30 pm in the Jefferson- Houston School’s Multipurpose Room, 1501 Cameron St. The first workshop will take place on Monday, June 20, and will serve as an interactive work session where residents can identify current issues and provide input on what they like and want to see for their neighborhood. The second workshop will be held on Thursday, June 23, and will focus on alternatives for further refinement and evaluation.

The City of Alexandria will hold an ongoing open house during the week of June 20 in the Durant Center, which is located next door to the Jefferson-Houston School. The open house will give the public an opportunity to view information and provide input. The hours for the open will be announced at the first workshop on June 20.

The planning for this area will continue through 2005 and development of plan recommendations is slated to be completed by mid-2006.
