Alexandria Operates Nuisance Abatement Hotline

The City of Alexandria’s Nuisance Abatement Hotline, 703.836.0041, is a 24-hour phone number for residents and businesses seeking assistance with public nuisance issues involving violations of City Codes. The hotline is designed to handle issues such as accumulation of trash, abandoned cars, poorly maintained properties, overcrowded apartments, and rodent problems.

Callers to the hotline should state the nature and location of the problem, as well as provide a name and phone number. If the problem is urgent, a City agency will immediately dispatch personnel to investigate. If not, action will be taken no later than the next business day. Callers will be advised of actions taken. During emergencies calls may be taken electronically.

For any additional information about City Codes or services provided by the City of Alexandria, call the Code Enforcement Bureau at 703.838.4360.
