City Sponsors USDA Summer Food Service Program
Free Lunch and Snacks Provided to Local Youth


The City of Alexandria is sponsoring the United States Department of Agriculture Summer Food Service Program for local youth, ages 18 and under. The program will provide free lunches and snacks for participants on weekdays from June 28 to Aug. 12.

Meals will be provided at the following locations: the Charles Houston Recreation Center, Cora Kelly Recreation Center, Mt. Vernon Recreation Center, Nannie J. Lee Recreation Center, Patrick Henry Recreation Center, and William Ramsay Recreation Center; various playground sites throughout the City; and to registered participants of the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities’ Therapeutic Recreation Program.

Other organizations and locations receiving meals for individuals registered in their programs include the Alexandria Olympic Boys & Girls Club, and the Campagna Kids Summer Camp sites.

Acceptance and participation in the program is the same for all, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex or disability.
