Gordon, Public Information Officer, or PIO 150-05/bg Raynard Owens, Communications Officer, at 703.838.4300 City of Alexandria Announces Outdoor Pools Opening Schedule The City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities announces the opening of the Outdoor Pools for the summer season as follows: Old Town Pool, 1609 Cameron St. Opens Memorial Day Weekend, May 28 - 30 Open Weekends only through June 26 Open Daily June 27 - Aug. 19 and limited days Aug. 20 - Sept. 5 Operating Hours: 12 - 7 pm Admission Fees: $1 for children 7 - 17 & adults 60 & older, and $2 for adults 18 - 59 Warwick Pool, 3301 Landover St. Opens Saturday, June 18 Open Weekends only through June 26 Open Daily June 27 - Aug. 19 and limited days Aug. 20 - Sept. 5 Operating Hours: 11 am - 6 pm Saturday & Sunday, and 12 - 7 pm Monday - Friday Admission Fees: $1 for children 7 - 17 & adults 60 & older, and $2 for adults 18 - 59 Season passes for Old Town and Warwick Pools may be purchased at the Chinquapin Park Recreation Center. Nicholas Colasanto Pool, 2704 Mount Vernon Ave. Opens Memorial Day Weekend, May 28 - 30 Open Weekends only through June 12 Attendance will be open to all ages during Warwick Pool’s closure, with limited capacity. Admission is free, operating hours are Saturday and Sunday, 11 am - 6 pm. Neighborhood Pools Nannie J. Lee Pool, 1108 Jefferson St. Nicholas Colasanto Pool, 2704 Mount Vernon Ave. John Ewald Pool, 4500 Duke St. Open Daily June 27 - Aug. 19 Operating Hours: Daily 12 am - 6 pm Each neighborhood pool has a water depth of 3-5 feet and a maximum guest limit of 45 people. Attendance is limited to City youth 13 years of age and younger and parents are welcome to accompany their children. Admission is free. Charles Houston Pool, 901 Wythe St. is closed for repairs. Transportation is being provided from the Charles Houston Recreation Center to the Old Town Pool during the week at no charge. For information and to register for the bus transportation, contact the staff at the Charles Houston Recreation Center. Don’t want to worry about the weather? The Dr. Robert S. Rixse Memorial Indoor Pool is open year-round at the Chinquapin Park Recreation Center, 3210 King St. The pool is open Monday through Thursday, 6 am - 9:45 pm; Fridays, 6 am - 7:45 pm; and Saturday and Sundays, 8 am to 6:45 pm. Admission for City residents is $3 for youth and seniors (60+) and $5 for ages 16 and older and nonresidents all ages is $8.
