More Than 300 Bicycle Commuters Expected
For Alexandria’s Bike To Work Day Celebration

The City of Alexandria is expecting more than 300 bicycle commuters for Alexandria’s Bike To Work Day 2005. The event will take place from 6:45 to 9 am at City Hall’s Market Square, 301 King St., on Friday, May 20. Alexandria’s Bike To Work Day is part of the national celebration of National Bike To Work Week.

The Alexandria event will feature speakers, entertainment, and chances to win raffle prizes.

Bicycling helps reduce congestion, improve air quality, and provide a healthy alternative for commuters as a means of transportation to and from work.

For more information on the City’s Bike To Work Day celebration, call Vanessa Vega of the Transportation Division at 703.838.3800; or visit www.waba.org.
