National Finance Association Honors Alexandria

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has presented the City of Alexandria with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The City received the award in recognition of its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The award is the highest form of honor in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

City Deputy Director of Finance and Comptroller Laura B. Triggs received an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement from the association for preparing the CAFR.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association that serves approximately 16,000 government finance professionals.
